Are there cracks in the walls of your home?
Are there cracks near the soil level?

Cracks can weaken the structural integrity of your home and are potential signs of foundation problems that will need to be addressed. Any cracks you find should immediately be noted and monitored to ensure they are not growing unevenly.

Cracks like those above can mean that there is a sinkhole, which is caused by water dissolving minerals in rock and limestone or washing away dirt, leaving open spaces in the ground. By not taking action these cracks will continue to form and the foundation problem will continue to get worse.

This is not always the case, as cracks don’t always affect the foundation’s load bearing capacity. In this case, the problem is only cosmetic, and can be fixed simply by patching drywall cracks.
